00:45

Welcome everyone to this week's episode of the Masterful Coach podcast. So this is episode 199 of this podcast, and I can hardly believe it. And if you've been following the last few weeks, you know that this is the final episode of the Masterful Coach podcast.

01:05

And episode 200 of this podcast is going to be under a new name and a new focus. And I am just so excited to lean into this work. I'm going to tell you a little bit about why the podcast is changing, why this expansion, and what it means for you.

01:22

Because trust me, if you've been listening to the Masterful Coach podcast as we move forward, this is still exactly, exactly where you want to be. So before I go any further, I just want to take a minute to say thank you.

01:36

Thank you so much to those of you that are here, whether this is your first time listening or the 199th time that you've listened. I'm so grateful for the ways that you inspire me. Being able to have each of you on my mind all the time and be thinking about how can I add value?

01:58

How can I teach? How can I uplift? Uh, it's just such a huge benefit to me. So thank you. Thank you for being here. Thank you for being the kind of person who wants to make yourself and your life better and the kind of person that wants to have that ripple effect on everyone else.

02:14

Okay. So the podcast is going to be shifting. And one of the things that is foundational and has kind of evolved over these episodes of the podcast is, is really me leaning into this focus on the four fundamentals of lasting change, right?

02:33

You hear me talk about it all the time. We're talking about mind mastery and what that actually means from a whole-person perspective. We're talking about emotional resiliency and how that is way more than grit.

02:45

It is so much more than that. It is beyond that. It is deeper and it is more important than we realize. The third thing we talk about is the nervous system and regulation, and how truly we cannot create any meaningful change if we don't understand our nervous system and having it on board with us.

03:02

And so that's the third thing, that key thing I talk about. And then the fourth thing, the fourth piece of these four fundamentals is the type of action plan, the type of strategy that's actually going to be effective.

03:16

And the fact of the matter is that most of us, most people walking the planet are trying to make changes, and these changes don't stick. And we often believe that the problem is that we're not organized enough, or we're not disciplined enough, or we're not XYZ enough.

03:38

And actually, I believe what is much more true than this is that too many of us don't understand how our brain works, how our body works, how our nervous system works, we don't understand the kind of support we actually need to create change.

03:52

And that is what I am all about. And this is exactly why this podcast is changing, because while I love teaching coaches, and I love speaking to you as coaches, I am passionate about helping every single person who is walking the planet and wanting more, I'm passionate about speaking to every single one of you.

04:10

And in truth, as I've worked over this last decade with individual clients, and then of course, leaning into coaches, and training master coaches, and doing advanced coach training, and working with people to advance their coaching skills.

04:24

My very favorite part, my absolute favorite part is the individuals that I'm working with and the ways that they change. When I think about my master coach clients, and I think about them coming to me with a desire to be a better coach, to have more confidence in their coaching ability to figure out, okay, how can I be such a great coach that my business is going to work better, that it's going to be easier for me to sell, right? These are the things that many of my clients have come to me, whether it's been for an advanced training or Master Coach Training or one of my other programs. And then what happens is something magical because this client, we'll call this client Sarah. Sarah comes wanting to be a better coach.

05:16

Sarah comes wanting to be better equipped to work with her clients, to not get caught in self-doubt, to not struggle with her sales calls, right? Sarah is coming for these things. But what happens as I work with Sarah, as I work with my clients, as I work with coaches, on understanding these four fundamentals of lasting change, Sarah begins to understand how to have greater self-trust.

05:45

And when Sarah begins to have greater self-trust, it means she is a better coach. She's more attuned to her clients, she is less likely to go to a place of self-doubt. And this self-trust that I'm talking about can be a bit of a vague idea or concept, and it can be hard to know what that is.

06:07

And that's the power of this work that I'm able to do with my clients is helping you as a human being to understand what that even means, okay? And the ways that is in the way for you. So going back to this example of Sarah, right?

06:25

Sarah comes in wanting all these skills, wanting this confidence, wanting these abilities to grow her business and help others. But the first thing that she learns and understands is self-trust and what that means for her.

06:39

And if we relate this one concept of self-trust to these four fundamentals, self-trust and building that self-trust is related to understanding the ways that some of our thought patterns are eroding our sense of trust.

06:58

Some of the ways that the world around us has conditioned ourselves to question ourselves, to erode that self-trust. When we're thinking about this example of Sarah and self-trust, and we're thinking about the second fundamental in my list, emotional resilience, okay?

07:18

When Sarah is trying to lean in to self-trust, when she's trying to grasp this concept as we work together, it requires her to base and process and be with and work with some of the emotions that seem to be in the way of her ability to trust herself.

07:43

And this is where the emotion magic comes into the work that I'm able to offer you. And I say you Again, as I'm shifting out of just the world of coaches, and I'm talking to individuals, all of these things that I'm talking about, these four fundamentals, and these things that we want to bring in to implement change, they apply to every human being who's growing, who's implementing change.

08:10

So when we're thinking about Sarah, and we're thinking about self-trust, and keeping this very narrow, I'm keeping this on one piece of this, to help you to understand how these four parts fit together, and ultimately understand what this shift is as I'm teaching you, as I'm mentoring you, and what this can mean for you personally.

08:29

So back on track with me here. So we've got Sarah, right? And we're starting to help Sarah understand the ways that her cognition, her cognitive patterns, heavy-roaded self-trust, and how we can instead allow those to build her self-trust.

08:44

We're looking at this emotional resiliency. This is where I'm doing emotion work with Sarah, right? And then Sarah is able to begin to feel more comfortable with the self-connection and self-trust. She's able to recognize some of those feelings that come up that could potentially get in the way, and we understand how to work with those emotions in her.

09:05

This is where I say emotional resiliency is way more than grit. It is something so much more than that, so much beyond that, okay? So let's keep talking about this example of Sarah. As Sarah is working with me in Master Coach training and building that self-trust, we need to understand that there are going to be times in which her nervous system is freaking out and telling her that it is dangerous to trust herself.

09:37

There are going to be times when the uncertainty of forging a new path with the way that she thinks, forging a new path with her relationship with her emotions, that uncertainty is going to feel scary to a part of her brain and enter nervous system activation, right?

09:58

We're talking about a sympathetic nervous system state that is going to put her on high alert and in a stress state. So as we're thinking about this one example of Sarah and this one piece of the self-trust that she's developing here, we can see how the mind mastery, the emotional resiliency, and really embodying that emotional space and the nervous system all are going to help her to implement this change.

10:26

Now let's talk about the fourth piece of these fundamentals, which is the action plan, the strategy. As I'm able to work with Sarah and help her to be able to put in practices and rituals to help her to step into self-trust, step into a different way of decision-making.

10:47

And as we are able to have a plan of action for her that takes into account those thought patterns that have worked against her and the thought patterns that we're wanting to develop, as we can include in this plan of action, what she needs with regard to her own emotions.

11:06

These can be certain journaling approaches and practices, tapping, there's so many things we can do. There are things we can do with Sarah to help her with nervous system regulation, to actually teach her brain and her body that a new way of being is safe for her.

11:27

So my hope is that you're able to see in this example of Sarah, that as we are building one piece of the puzzle for Sarah, which is self-trust. And we're building this self-trust with mind emotions, nervous system regulation, and plans of action.

11:46

It allows her to more fully develop that self-trust in a permanent and lasting way. So what does this example have to do with anything? What does this example have to do with coaching and you and where I'm shifting?

12:03

This is why this is relevant. Sarah's coming to me because she wants to be a better coach. And as we work together, one of the things Sarah needs to develop is that self-trust. Because that self-trust is the key to her being able to make more bold decisions in her business.

12:23

It is the key to her being more in connection with her clients and attuned to her clients. And it truly is the anchor for her as she builds and expands her business. And so as Sarah comes in to be a better coach, she becomes a better coach and beyond for so many reasons.

12:50

And I could get into all of that, right? Because again, think about this. We're talking about one small piece of the puzzle here. But Sarah becomes a better coach. And the big difference in the part that I love the most about this work is that Sarah becomes a woman who knows who she is.

13:10

She becomes a woman who trusts herself. Sarah becomes a woman who knows how to navigate the ups and downs, the ebbs and flows, and the changes in her life and business. Why? Because not only has she developed the muscle of self-trust, but she knows how to work with her mind effectively.

13:32

She knows how to work with her emotions with them, inviting them, being with them, using them. them as the powerful gifts that they are, she knows how to regulate her nervous system and she knows how to create a plan of action for herself to overcome absolutely everything.

13:49

And this is what I love because Sarah becomes a better coach, Sarah becomes a stronger business owner, Sarah becomes more decisive, Sarah loves herself more than she ever has, Sarah is stronger and more regulated as a parent, Sarah shows up stronger in her relationship, every area of Sarah's life changes.

14:12

And as I have worked with coaches and as I have seen them, first of all, the beautiful thing is we take a you-first approach, right? So they learn this for themselves and then they're able to help their clients do it.

14:24

So it automatically has that ripple effect. But as I've done this work over and over again, I see that where I personally light up and where I am able to best use my gifts. is speaking directly to the coach, to the client, to the human being in front of me and helping you personally to learn these four fundamentals, to embody them, and to completely shift every area of your life.

14:56

Which leads me to where we're headed next. Next week, I am going to reveal the new name of the podcast. And the podcast is shifting to being really focused on you as an individual, you as a listener, helping you to understand how you can become more clear in where you're wanting to go in your life, how you can become more clear on how these four fundamentals apply to you personally.

15:28

I truly believe that whether you're a coach or a leader or any kind of human being at all that impacts others, we have to go first. You have to go first. So as this podcast shifts, I want you to know, I'm here for you.

15:47

I want to be your mentor. I am going to be real and raw. I am going to share some of the experiences that I have had over the last decade as I have been doing this work that have rocked my world. We're going to be talking about mastery.

16:05

We're talking about life mastery. And we're going to be talking about the underbelly of mastery because it is very easy for us to see someone who has a smile on their face and maybe they appear to be in good health and they are always on top of it with their mind and their emotions.

16:21

But guess what? Underneath for every single one of us, there are big challenges that are growing us that are growing us at a soul level. And we're going to talk about it. We're going to talk about all of it right here on the podcast.
